IKEA global e-learning platform designed to support social impact and campaigning teams across multiple regions. The platform enables teams to plan, learn, and execute campaigns using structured knowledge, guidance, and shared best practices.
Role: Senior Product Designer working with Given Agency’s e-learning team. Responsible for UX design including user flows, information architecture, and learning experience design. Collaborated with researchers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to translate complex campaign knowledge into structured, usable digital experiences.
Context: IKEA runs global social impact and campaigning initiatives across multiple countries. Knowledge from past campaigns was fragmented across regions and teams, making it difficult to scale learnings or apply consistent approaches.
Problem: Campaign knowledge and best practices were distributed across teams with no centralised system. Users struggled to access relevant insights, learn from previous campaigns, or follow consistent planning processes. This led to inefficiencies and inconsistent execution across regions.
Approach:
Reviewed existing research from IKEA and analysed leading e-learning platforms. Conducted validation with users across 10+ countries who were already engaging with early versions of the tool. Used insights to define personas, learning pathways, and information architecture. Focused on creating structured, guided experiences for campaign planning and execution.
Solution:
Designed a centralised e-learning platform that consolidates campaign knowledge into structured modules and guided flows. Defined clear learning pathways and user journeys to support different roles and levels of experience. Created scalable information architecture to support global usage and future content expansion.
Outcome:
Platform rolled out across global IKEA teams. Supported users in 10+ countries. Improved consistency in how campaigns are planned and executed. Established a single source of truth for campaign knowledge and best practices.
Constraints:
Due to NDA, visual designs and detailed UI outputs cannot be shared. Work focused on experience design, structure, and learning systems rather than visual presentation.
Characteristics:
Global scale product, multi-region usage, content-heavy UX, learning system design, enterprise collaboration, research-led design decisions.
